He Found His Pregnant Wife Working as a Maid at a Luxury Hotel A27
“The baby’s mine?”
Elena flinched.
“Yes.”
“I didn’t know.”
“I told you.”
“No. You never—”
“I called. I emailed. I went to the house.”
Julian leaned forward.
“When?”
“The week you were in Singapore. Then again after you got home.”
He remembered that trip. Remembered returning to find her closet half-empty and an envelope on the kitchen counter.
Inside was a typed letter bearing her signature.
Please don’t look for me. I’ve made my decision.
He had refused to believe it.
At first.
“You left me a letter,” he said.
“I didn’t write you a letter.”
The office refrigerator clicked on behind Rosa’s desk.
Julian stared at his wife.
“Camila found it.”
Elena’s face changed.
“She was your assistant then,” she said quietly. “You told me I could trust her.”
Julian had hired Camila two years earlier. She managed his schedule, screened calls, and helped oversee the house when he traveled.
Four months after Elena vanished, she had become something else.
“She came to the house while you were away,” Elena said. “She showed me messages. Supposedly between you and your lawyer.”
“What messages?”
“That you wanted me gone before you came home. That you thought I’d gotten pregnant to keep you.”
“Elena—”
“She knew about the baby.”
He went still.
“I’d asked her to help arrange a dinner,” Elena continued. “I wanted to tell you when you got back.”
Elena had refused to leave at first. She had called Julian repeatedly.
His calls were going through a travel number Camila had arranged.
Then Elena received an email from his account confirming what Camila had said.
“She told me you wanted everything handled through her.”
“Why didn’t you wait for me?”
“I came back.”
Her voice sharpened.
“Your security guard wouldn’t open the gate. He said there were instructions.”
Julian remembered approving a new access list. Camila had described it as routine.
He had signed without reading.
Elena still had the email.
She pulled out a phone with a cracked screen and opened it.
Julian read his own name beneath sentences he had never written.
Then she showed him the messages from Camila.
